Frequently Asked Questions

How many days does this event last?

 • This is a one-day car show in Waxahachie.  It will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Please plan to keep your car at the Show until 3:00 pm.

Is there a fee for this event?

 • This event is free.

Do I need to register?

 • Yes, we need to know how many cars to plan for.  If you plan to bring more than one car, please fill out a registration for each car.  Please register early; space is limited.  Register here!

How do I register?

 • We will be using Eventbrite this year.  Registration will open early on February 9.  There will be a link on this website or you can go directly to Eventbrite and search for Sweethearts & Orphans.  Registration will close March 2.

There will be NO onsite registration.

Does my car need to be a "show" car?

No, if it can make it to Waxahachie, we want to see it!

Does my car need to be "pre-war"?

No.  Any car made prior to 1990 is eligible, if

• it was built before World War II
• It is a historic automobile whose manufacturer has disappeared, like Hudson, Studebaker, Willys, Graham-Paige, Nash, Kaiser-Frazer, Packard, AMC and hundreds of others
• “Corporate orphans” – historic marques from Chrysler, Ford, and GM, such as LaSalle, DeSoto, Edsel, etc., and more recent orphans like Plymouth, Oldsmobile, Mercury, Pontiac and others

How do I know where to park my "orphan" car?

There will be parking helpers onsite at the NEW location.  Parking will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis in designated parking spaces.

Is there trailer parking?

Trailer parking is located behind the school.  The entrance is off of Indian Drive.

Will there be judging?  Awards?

No, not this year.  No judging and no awards.  We just want people to admire and enjoy our unique and historic cars, establish friendships, and enjoy a day in a friendly, laidback setting.  Good friends and great memories remain the real prizes of this meet.

What is there for Sweethearts to do?

There are lots of shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants in downtown Waxahachie, if they get tired of talking about cars.

Will there be a banquet?

 • No, not this year.  Instead, you could take your Sweetheart to dinner at one of the restaurants in Waxahachie.

Is there an event hotel?

 • Since this is only a one-day event, most people will not be needing a hotel, but of course, you may make your own reservation at any of the hotels in town.  They will be happy to have you!
